What you need to know before you enroll

The National Diploma is intended to equip students with knowledge skills to create architectural designs that satisfy both aesthetic and technical requirements.

The KNEC Diploma in Architecture is intended to equip students with knowledge skills to create architectural designs that satisfy both aesthetic and technical requirements.

While our JKUAT Diploma in Architecture is examined by JKUAT, the KNEC Diploma is examined by the Kenya National Examination Council.

Students take internal termly exams and KNEC examined modular (end of year) examinations. After completion of every module, all students seek placement for industrial attachment in relevant fields before proceeding to the next module. This attachment is supervised and graded by one of our lecturers.

Classes are conducted in our spacious design studios where our studio masters lecture and supervise all trainings conducted.

Our studio masters meet teaching standards set by the commission for university education.

All students attend workshops and site visits to put in practice what is taught in the classroom set up.

Course Duration: Three (3) years

After successful completion of the course, trainees can work as architectural assistants in architectural and civil engineering firms. Graduates of this programme can also further studies in Architectural Technology at Bachelors level

The minimum entry requirement for the Diploma in Architecture, examined by KNEC is KCSE Mean grade C- or an approved equivalent qualification as determined by KNEC.

• A KNEC Examination fee (as advised) is applicable for the three modules.
• A fee of Kshs. 1,500.00 is applicable to students who pay via the installment plan.
• Attachment fees of Kshs. 5,500 is applicable-after Module 1 & 2
