The skill upgrading course (SUG) in equips you with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience to excel in the exciting world of garment construction.
Gain expertise in:
Pattern Making: Learn how to draft patterns for various garment styles and sizes, ensuring a perfect fit.
Drape Cutting: Develop your creativity with drape cutting techniques, allowing you to create unique designs directly on fabric.
Garment Construction: Gain expertise in all aspects of garment construction, mastering sewing techniques for different fabrics and garments.
Finishing Touches: Learn professional finishing techniques like hemming, buttonholes, zippers, and more, for a polished final product.
Textile Knowledge: Understand the properties and characteristics of different fabrics to choose the best materials for your projects.
This flexible part-time program allows you to learn at your own pace, duration of three months (three days a week, three hours per day). Upon successful completion, you'll be eligible to take Grade Three (3) NITA Trade Test and become Certified in Garment Making, opening doors to exciting career opportunities.
Entry requirements
KCPE or equivalent
Prior experience and knowledge in building works (preferred)
Literacy in English and Kiswahili languages
Completing any artisan course makes you eligible for our Certificate in Fashion Design, a stepping stone towards a Diploma in Fashion Design Management.
