This Certificate is a form of visual communication with the aid of colours, shapes text and images to create visually appealing compositions. In the modern era, graphics are designed digitally using computers, applications and specialised hardware such as digital tablets.
However, skills in traditional design are an indispensable advantage. Effective designs simplify a message visually in a way that inspires, motivates or informs consumers making it critical in most businesses.
Course duration:
Three (3) semesters
After successful completion of the course, the trainee will be able to work as a Graphic Designer in
Marketing and Advertising Industry, Print, Broadcast and digital media industry, Web design and application development firms and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Entry Requirements:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of D+ (Plus) OR
Relevant Craft Certificate course OR Advanced Level Examination with one principal pass
OR Equivalent qualifications (including credit transfers) shall be determined by the institute’s Academic Board.
